About me
I’m hoooked on Asia. 23 Years in Japan and now starting a new adventure in SE Asia. Some of my favorite places to travel are Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, India, HK, Indonesia and the Philippines. Love them all, and hungry to see more.
Welcome to my blog. I focus mainly on travel and lifestyle in Asia. I welcome followers — especially those patient enough to wait for my sporadic bursts of posts. Hope you’ll stay tuned.
Hey Mike,
That’s a lot of experience in Asia. What brought you to this land?
Safe travels,

Hi,
I just want to say I love your blog especially your Palawan experience. I wanted to ask any travel and accommodation recommendation in El Nido and other activities you would recommend to do. I will be travelling with my friends this coming July – August.
Thanks

Thanks for the kind words, Janine. It means a lot! With accommodation, I would say it’s always good to just pick a location you want — which in El Nido is anywhere downtown…and then look at TripAdvisor reviews. Hotels in the Phils can change rapidly and drastically in terms of service and quality, so I’d say whatever I know about hotels would not be as good as seeing what people are saying now. As for activities, beyond the obvious — island hopping! — next time I go back I’d love to hike to higher ground to get a bird’s eye view of the bay and surrounding scenery.
Speaking of which…I’m now in Luang Prabang, Laos, doing some work on my balcony. If you love chilled and beautiful places, but LP on your travel to-do list 🙂
